Default RE: Climbing tips and tricks

WOW what a climber! The viper was beyond easy and safe to use. I used it last night for the first time. I couldn't believe how much better it is than the old thing I was trying to use [:-]. To say it bites into a tree is an understatement.

I timed myself just out of curiousity. It took me 16 minutes by the time I arrived at the base of the tree. Unpack it, hook it up, climb 15 feet, pull up bow, put release/facemask/gloves etc... on. So 16 minutes from unpacking to having an arrow knocked ready to hunt. I'm assuming my time would only lessen the more I get used to it and develop a system. How long does it take you guys to shimmy up and settle in?

Thethree things I've noticed so far are......
*Walking in with it on my back the V seems to smack the back of my leg every now and then.

*I wish the platform was maybe a foot longer. Sitting down in a normal position my feet hang half way over the edge of the foot platform. Not a huge deal, just something I noticed.

* It is entirely too comfortable. I was a touch under the weather last night. I may have dozed off in it for a half hour or so?[:-] I had a big fat doe @ 20 yards right at last light. It was low light and I was 70/30 on the shot as far as light goes so I watched her stroll away.

Anyway... awesome stand guys. Thanks for all the tips and advice. Can't wait to post a picture of my first deer kill out of it
