I have an encore, but it is in a pistol, with a 15" .308 barrel. It is awsome. I would strongly suggest this gun. You can turn it into anything you want for about $200 for a new barrel. Mike Belm makes alot of aftermarket parts for thompson. Check out www.accuratereloading.com . They have a good forum for single shot pistols and rifles. That guy also advertises there. Hope this helps
