No, your not at fault. Alot of people might say your a wimp for switching to a crossbow, but you need to ignore them. Don't worry about what other people say about you and what you hunt with. Those same people say that about crossbows and then they use rifles to hunt which are the cheapest things to hunt with. You just need to practice more with the compound bow and get better and then you can hunt with both if you'd want to.
