A 308 is a great all round weapon
for you it will get them even at 300 yards if ever need be.
a 25-06 a great vermit game at 50 to 150 yard your not useing it for its design. A 243 (My wifes weapon) great at 20 tof 120 yds 150 yds neck only shoots. I prefer a 7mm 50 to 400 he's down
The most important thing is whats comfortable it your hands.

Some people get 300 mags or 280just to namea couple.
shoot it a couple of times and are affaid of the recoil![&o]
when it comes time for the kill they pull the shot because there affaidof the kick!! Hope this helps good luck! Also pray about it. God never misses!
