RE: hunting journals?
Saturday October 7th,Moon phase full,@ 5:30 am the tempeture was 42deg.Left the house @5:55 am it is very crisp out and bright because of the full moon
I was on stand @ 6:30 A
I was wearing the cabelas grand slam fleece scent loc bibs,&insulated scent loc pullover jacket.
Scentloc fleece bacalava
The Lacrosse 1500 thinsulate rubber boots worked great
I was very comfortable
At 6:40 am it was light enough to see the forest floor and see my sight pin
Overall comfort level was good.
I did not see any deer but did see numerous raccoons, birds &squirrels.
My back did start to get a little sore after 3hrs
My hunt ended @ 10 AM.
My thoughts where to trim the nearby trees and do some ground scouting.
After scouting an area a little south of where I have stand # two I found a couple of suitable trees for climber use.
I did see some deer tracks, but not many.I think after the corn is removed and the moons wanes, there will be a lot more sign showing up(at least I hope so)
After scouting I went back to stand location#2 to trim up some shooting lanes and did such.I will leave this stand alone for a few days
After trimming location # 2 I went to look at stand location 1
This location actually looks like an unadulterated area or un touched. If I get the urge to hunt this coming week I will either hunt this stand or take my climber in to the south area.
I need to make a plan for future hunts in the coming weeks such as days off from work and where I plan on hunting
I need to pack my carry all fanny pack and put flashlights, wind checkers marking tape, knives rangefinders extra hat/cap gloves, release aide maybe reading materials, spare rope
