RE: Question regarding "tightness"
"The secret to T/C tight boreswith Omegasis their outstanding accuracy".
I agree that this sentence does not make sense. If it said "The secret to the Omega's outstanding accuracy is the tight fit between bore and projectile". then that would make sense, whether true or not.
I know nothing about the Omega, or how the recommended projectiles fit the bore, or how the rifling is cut. However, I have had some experience with the White system. It uses what I would describe as "heavy for caliber" bullets, whencomparing the White bullet weightsto most others of the same bore size. I suspect that using the heavier slugsis what allowsmaking the bullets a nice sliding fit in their bores, The extra inertia causes them to swage up enough on firing to take the rifling, yet the bullets are easy to load (at least, in a clean barrel!!). I have shot some 400-grain White bullets in a Traditions Lightning Lightweight .50, and they loaded and shot very well. So this particularTraditions bore must be a little on the large size for the White bullets to work in it as well as they do. I have never slugged this bore, but since it works so well, I just use the White bullets in it-400 grain White flatbase bullet, 120 grains of Pyrodex P.
