RE: Ethical: Monster in doe season
Three years ago I shot a 9pt with a 21" inside spread, 5 minutes after the shot I've got a monster with tines 8-10" long standing broadside at 80 yds. My son's in a tree stand 300 yds away and he still has his buck tag. What did I do, As far as I know the buck is still alive.
This year we all tagged out early with some nice 8pts, except my youngest son who had one of his doe tags and buck tags left and my friend, with a doe tag. I was beating the brush and moved a 11pt within 35 yds of my friend who let the buck walk. The sticker to this is that 3 of us had missed this deer before tagging out, but what good is a bragging size buck if you can't honestly brag about it. My son did fill his remaining doe tag and we all decided 7 deer was enough.
