Default RE: Bullet Grain

I've got a Model 700 .30-06. I use Winchester 150 gr. Power Points, and they work great. They shoot into an inch at 100 yards, and have 4 shots/4 kills on whitetails with it. I really don't see the point in paying for premium loads for thin-skinned game like whitetails, and 150's are more than enough of weight to get the job done on a whitetail.

You might also try the Remington Express 150 gr. Core-Lokt's.

I use 100 gr Core-Lokt's on deer in my .243, and they work great as well. They're capable of 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards in my rifle and my son and I are 4 for 4 with them as well.

If all you're after is deer, I think it's pointless to spend the extra money for premium ammo. I think you're better off buying more of the Remington/Winchester inexpensive stuff and spend a little additional practice time at the range.
