Default RE: Homemade Targets

Pawildguy,
That is a great tip. I normally go to our local gun range to shoot but once in awhile I just want to fire a couple shots out on Crown land and need some kind of target "stand". I happen to have a brokedown lawn chair or three and will be making one into a folding target dtand.

I take a piece of cardboard and draw a rough deer shape on it and cut it out. Then Iuse that to shoot arrows at when getting "field practice". When my daughter was doing some rifle shooting in preperation to go deer hunting for the first time I put up a deer shape target for her to shoot at to see if she understood where on a deer to aim. A nice tight 3 shot group on the deers heart area gave us both a lot of confidence that she was ready to hunt. She killed a fat doe and we were both pretty pumped about it.

Al rifle hunters could probably benifit from some shooting at life like game targets instead of circle bullseye targets all the time.
