I had a pretty in depth discussion about this with a local guy here that really knows his stuff (won vegas pro class and multiple time NFAA national champ both indoors and out) and he tells me that helical does not stabilize the arrow faster and will not make the arrow spin to a point that is measurably faster. Helical seems to be harder to get vane clearance with on the rests I choose to use as well, so I prefer to go with an offset and even before I had this discussion I never saw a different whether it was with broadheads, FP's, etc.........
Rick James, I didn't want your thread to be misinterpreted. Helical and Offset alike will spin the arrow however they both do stabilize an arrow quicker and spin it sooner out of the bow compared to straight fletch and I believe was meant by this thread.
I prefer Offset myself as well.
