Default RE: Availability of bucks 125+

I think that every deer taken with a Bow, or gun for that matter is a trophy. I think too many hunters are worried about taking a “Book Trophy” 140+ deer. You could hunt in an area your whole life, and because you done see the monster doesn’t mean he is not out there. This is my first year bow hunting and I have seen a ton of deer. But I know that I only see about 25% of the deer that pass my stand. The same family has owned the land I hunt on for 30 years, 350 acres of prime deer land in the southern zone of NY. The biggest deer taken off the land is large 8pt, dressed out at 190lbs. While Bow hunting I saw a monster and I counted at least 12pt on him. The whole hill is now talking about his deer. I guess my point is he did not just appear out of thin air, he has been in the area for a few years at least and no one has seen him, before me.

I guess I am trying to say is just because you don’t see him doesn’t mean he is not out there. All deer taken should be considered to be trophies, bucks, does…. All Deer
