Dude, yer gonna love the Highlander!! Awesome piece of equipment! The list is long, but I'll try to keep it brief.

1. Don't overshoot. Too many people, especially when starting out, want to shoot 500 thousand arrows a day. Simply not a good idea. When you start to get tired, stop. This breeds bad habits that are hard to break.

2. Yes, you need to shoot from an elevated position. It's simply different. The angle will mess you up, but remember this: Start level, like you are shooting at the wall, and bend your waist to get on target. If you lower your bow arm, you will shoot high everytime.

3. A deer has a pretty large kill shot. If you can hit a 6" circle everytime, you'll kill a deer. Now that's not to say you shouldn't strive for a small group, but you're 4" is plenty good to take a deer. A turkey is much, much, much harder to hit and kill. The vitals on a turkey are about the size of a golf ball. Just set your range limit, and don't exceed it. Yes, shoot a deer this fall if given that shot inside of your comfort zone.

4. HAVE FUN!! Period.

We could be here all bloody night, but that's it in a nutshell......a very small nutshell.
