I use IC choke almost always for Pheasants. Modified at close range turns them into mush. Opening season I go wtih 2 3/4" 5 or 6 shot lead. Later with cold weather and birds have more feathers up North here, I go with 4 shot and up to 3" heavy loads to knock them down and keep them down, most of the time.
