The only concern I would have is will that WSM stand the test of time. If the market does not accept it and it's dropped from manufacting---then ammo will be hard to find & expensive. I asked the same question when I was 16---- I got a 30/06 bolt action & a 2.5x8 Leupold scope. It has never let me down, I've tasken elk,bear, deer, bighorn, Mtn Goat, antelope--- never a problem. I know an 06 is not new or exciting ---- it's plain jane but it works !!
