The problem is wicchunter, ALL those patterns you chose are VERY prone to "the blob effect" at any distance at all...

Let me do some searching for you; I've got a tad more experience at it than you probably, and -- you're right, there's no need to re-hash those pages and pages of discusion that was played out before.

Let me also add that of the patterns you listed above, I think you favor Hardwoods HD because of the very reasons you'll find touted in the threads I'm going to provide for you.
