I have a Savage Model 99, 243 Win.lever action with the brass rotary counter mag. I bought it new in 1962 and put a Bushnell Scopechief IV 4X on it. Post or Cross hairs.We can drive nails. I have gave it to my son now but for what we hunt and around here, there couldn.t be a better rifle. We,ve never done anything to it except clean and oil it.
At the gun club some of the members are telling him that he needs a REM 30-06 and I say why, this Savage has done the job for 30 yrs. and all we hunt is whitetails.
