I am not a fan of either, but they are both great. The type and weight of the guns and loads will make a difference in recoil. So a light weight .270 may have more felt recoil than a heavy '06. With the exception of shooting heavier bullets better, the '06 doesn't have enough "real world" advantage over the 7MM-08, .270, .280, or the .308 Win. to fret over! Pick one!
