RE: .270 accuracy
Well, BC's must count for something in the hunting world. People seem to buying alot of Scirrocos, and BT. The round nose bullet(low BC) don't seem to sell in the deer community near as much as boattail's. So it must count for something. And as you so eligantly put it count for a crap.
DG wrote "Also, how did the WSM get into this conversation? The question was about the 270 and the 270 Mag, so answer his question with the facts if YOU have them. And to add, shot for shot I'll put my Mag against ANYTHING you can carry in the woods, including that 30 cal. thing. Thats how confident I am in my ability and the 270 Mag. Bring it!"
What do you mean put "it" up. Don't make sense to me. Do you mean go to newfoundland and shoot my 300RUM at only moose past 400 yards and you shoot your .270whatever it is. Or are you meeting me in Ky at the range. Or are you setting up a penetrations test against my 300rum or my .300 win. Man, your not making much sense here.
I assumed the man meant WSM in the .270 mag catagory. Funny thing, when someone mentions .270mag these days, not too many think of that weatherby cartridge. Sorry I forgot about weatherbys. Just don't see too many boxs of that at the gun store or to many people shooting them. Only .270's I see is wins and WSM.
So are these people in your "1000 yard club" shooting .270's???? There is a bunch of 1000 yard clubs all over the nation that does shoot animals. And yes, any of these guys I have talked to do worry about sectional density and bullistic coef. Maybe the club you belong to doesn't. Who knows.
