Default RE: .270 accuracy

The .270 Win. will take game up to the size of caribou at any range at which YOU are competent to hit them in a vital spot! It is NOT a question of the cartridge's effective range as much as it is a question of your competence as a rifleman! Many head of big game has been killed with this round at ranges of more than 400 yards. I( have done it a couple of times myself. The 150 grain Sierra boattail is about as good a bullet, from the ballistic standpoint, as any!! If your twist is 1/10" or faster, (mine is 1/9&quot, it will stabilize any spitzer up to 160 grains just fine! The 270 Weatherby has a definite advantyasge over the .270 Win., but, in a 24" or longer barrel, there's not enough difference between the new .270 WSM and the old .270 WCF to justify replacing an old .270 WCF rifle that still has a good barrel.

Keep yore powder dry!!
