Hello. Forget all the pleasing to shoot stuff. A 300 Win Mag with a 180gr Accubond is what you want for a once in a lifetime Elk hunt. If you have a X-canyon shot at 400 yards what would you want ....a rifle bullet that drops 11 inches at 400 yards when zeroed at 250 or one that drops 25 inches. My God, this is a no brainer. When you pull the trigger, you will not feel the recoil....trust me. The 300 Win Mag is the 5th best selling cartridge of all time for a reason......forget the 6mm, 7mm stuff.....go with the big dog......you aren'ttrying to kill a200 pound deer......These boys are triple that and need serious killing energy at moderate ranges.Regards, Rick.
