My dad hasn't been able to bowhunt for about five years due to a shoulder injury. His doctor finally sent out his information to the WVDNR to get him a permit to use a locking device on a bow. He's been approved. The doc is trying to get dad to fill out the paperwork for a crossbow permit, but he thinks that's cheating......hell, took him five years to agree to a drawloc.

Has anyone used a drawloc or similar device? How difficult are they to install? Should my proshop do the install or could a couple amatures get it done. Any information is appriciated.

It'll be installed on an older Maritn Firecat. nothing fancy but nice bow none the less.

Are they worth the effot to fool with or should he just get the crossbow permit?
