It's best to get an acoustic first. That way you will build the finger strength a lot better than you would with an electric. THEN once you decide to play electric, you will notice you can fly on the fretboard!

I've been playing guitar for over 30 years. Honest, I'm 45 years old and picked up a guitar when I was 12. I started out on an acoustic all those years ago too.

-Fender Strat
-Ibanez SG copy (rewired with Dimarzio super distortions by me).
-Yamaha 12 string acoustic
-Takamine 6 string acoustic
...and a bunch of other instruments.
