Hate to say but the talking heads will neverbe able toban hunting, it's a multi billion dollar industry providing an unbelieveable amount of jobs, and millions of dollars if not billions of dollars in funding that goes toward the acquisition and preservation of much of the land these organizations say is so important to the wildlife. These people need to realize that here (at least in Ohio) much of the public land that these animals call home was bought and paid for from license fees coming from the hunting public.
Until PETA or HSUS or whomever can find a way to replace a several billion dollar industry, countless government dollars and funding, this won't happen.
Really? When was the last time anyone on here hunted spring bear in Ontario? Laws are passed by a majority vote of a (not so necessarily well informed) political constituency. Don't assume that just because something has a lot of money involved as a consequence, that a successful emotional campaign won't blind people to the facts. Stay vigilant.
As you also said; "That said it is important as members of the hunting community to continue to uphold firm ethics and educate all those out there about the practices of ethical hunting." !!!
