Our season starts mid October and things change so much at that time of year, especially food, that the deer at least in the North East start changing their routine. Which of course is why they say October deer are so hard to kill. Any way I set mine up just before the opener. Say a week before and then change them all hunting season as the deer change their areas. Which is why I scout all season long I don't quit just because the season started.
