My group filled 5 of 6 tags (best ever) the first elk rifle season here in colorado and weve been sending meat to various relatives and guess what? Got a young lad out in Washington chopping at the bit to go with us next fall. He's 18, this was his first year hunting and he got his first deer and he is stoked about "moving up" to elk hunting. His weapon? 270 Winchester. Since its all been covered, I'll just send him here for the "good news." Since he is new to hunting and doesn't consider himself a expert military makrksman or SWAT sniper we'll see what he comes up with for "bullet weight for elk!"
