thanks for all the help guys, my dad is set on puttin up a chicken wire fence around the patch just to deter the deer, so im not gonna argue w/ him. but from what u've said, it seems the deer wont bother them too much neway, and they would most likely get smashed up for bait come deer season anyway, so we only need them to survive til mid november.
