RE: For Sale : Barely Used *Custom* Knight Disk Extreme
No, it isn't the same barrel put on the Elite. The barrel that was purchased and is now on the gun is fluted and tapered. Tapered means the barrel starts off wider near the stock and gradually decreases / narrows at the end of the barrel allowing for extra distance and accuracy from your bullet. The fluted design on the barrel improves accuracy because of the barrel stiffness (it's a larger diameter which increases its rigidity). The fluted design also increases the cooling rate of the barrel due to a greater amount of the surface area being exposed to the air.
The Knight Disc Elite is a good gun but not near as accurate with the factory barrel compared to the fluted, tapered barrel.
I live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I've only used a couple different loads but what's worked best for me so far are the Powerbelt bullets. I don't really have a preference on pellets and primers. To each his own.
I'm really not sure why Knight stopped making the Disc Elite. The Disc Extreme is one of Knight's better muzzleloaders out there now and that's why it's still on the market. And again, the only reason I am selling this gun is due to money circumstances and need to get rid of it as quick as possible. Thanks for looking!
