With a rabbit snare it will have to be real thin cable like picture hanging wire. The animal goes through the snare with his head and as he continues on through his motions and his fur and body contact with the snare cause the snare to tighten on his body and the more he fights the tighter it gets. Most animals snared have at least one leg through the snare and are caught around the mid-section. I recommend getting a copy of Fur-Fish-and Game magazine; great trapping magazine.
