RE: What kind of camo do you wear?
Honestly, I know this will go against the grain of the regulars around here, but I am more prone to buy clothing that is made of certain materials/designs than I am to buy for a particular pattern. I really like waterproof fleece for my outer layer, it is silent and keeps the wind and water off me when it is nasty out. I honestly don't really have problems getting sighted and picked offin my tree or in a blind, and haven't for probably 5-6 years now. I do get winded occasionally, but not often becauseI am careful of my stand placement. This is why I haven't yet sprung for something of a more open pattern like predator/asat or the new enigma. This is not to say that these camo's don't work better (i think they probably do wor much better) but I really don't seem to have problems with the realtree hd hardwoods grey I have now. I may be getting an enigma suite this fall though, because I hope to have them in the shop for customers and I would like to give the setup a shot to see how they work. I think the real advantage to this type of camo is when I have a spot that doesn't have a tree that can break up my outline once the leaves have dropped it will probably keep me from getting spotted and skylined a bit better. For now I simply don't hunt out of trees that won't break my outline up and keep me concealed............maybe this new camo will allow me more freedom when picking "the perfect tree".
