Flash rust.......have to patch dry the boreimmediately after coming out of the hot water rinse.

Then let it lay for 5 minutes for the residual heat to bone dry the bore...then plaster the borebutter to it...3-4 applications of a lube patch with BB heavily spread all over it with a putty knife or popcicle stick, etc.
is it necessary to use HOT WATER.i did not for 35 years and no problems.
