Cooper? great rifle but maybe you are asking about a pistol. High Standard made a very nice 22 pistol but I would stay away from the ones made in Texas.
If you are talking about a 22 semi-auto rifle the Ruger 10/22 is hard to beat plus you can get aftermatker goodies for it and take the $200 rifle past $800 if you decide a trick rifle is for you.

My point is there are many rifles and pistols in 22lr that are very nice. Why limit yourself to one??
