Move slower , and when you think you're slow enough slow down some more . Wait for the frog to relax , when he starts croaking again start moving , stop if he stops croaking and wait for him to start up again . Herons do this , and you'll never be as good at froggin' as they are . I've found that Spring Peepers make excellent practice before the season starts . They're very easy to spook , very small , and you can even call to them to get them to reveal their location . If you can sneak up on and gig or shoot a frog the size of a penny those huge bullfrogs aren't nearly as hard .
