I now the barrel isn't anything real special, but it is the barrel that is advertised in their catalog in 2003, AND the gun does not shoot well. Would you care if your 2005 F350 turned out to be a 2003, and had the old diesel engine in it, which maybe is slightlyless powerful and maybe gets worse gas mileage? I know that Rem. and Win. had deep inventories at certain times, but everyone I talk to is surprised that Weatherby did or does. Not only that, I ordered the gun special in 2003. I did not buy it off of Joe's Ace Hardware where it is reasonable to think it was not made yesterday.
Actually yes, I would rather have my truck turn out to be an '03 with a 7.3 instead of the new POS 6.0. But thats besides the point
I'm glad that Weatherby is standing behind their product. Hope your new rifle shoots better than your old one. I never saw this post until tonite, but I had a Ruger M77MKII in 30-06 that acted the same way your rifle was. I end up having my gunsmith glass bed/free float it, and then I put a Leupold on it and it shot like a champ.
