I once asked a dog trainer why Blood Hounds are not used in tracking game or general field use. His reply was becauseof the dog's amazing sense of smell.

This confused me until he fully answered saying it's too good. Blood Hounds will have a tendency to pick up old scents that other dogs cannot. They may then follow that scent trail to nowhere...

Is this true?I have never thought about it much until I read this thread.
