We had the opposite problem with one black target. When my arrow hit it sounded like I had shot a brick wall. My arrow got only got a 1/2 inch penetration. Of course I am shooting a longbow with wood arrows but I usually get at least 1 1/2 inches into a new target. Other than that the course was great and had a great time.
