I have not used it yet ( I will order some soon though), but BCY ML-6 seems to be the wax of choice around here. ML-6 has silicone in the wax and I have been told it really soaks into the string. As far as it bunching up, I couldn't tell you, sounds like a little too much wax to me. I think lancaster archery sells ML-6 online but I am trying to wait until I need a few things to order, S&H is a bear.
