RE: one more question
Odds are overwhelming that you won't "run into them" at all. You might hunt hard for 20 years and never see a cougar. Wolves are more visible but still a rare sighting. You'd do much better to worry about things like:
What should I do if I fall and break my leg?
How do I keep a tick from biting me?
How do I keep another hunter from shooting me?
Those are just three things, but I guarantee your odds of dying from any one of those three is roughly 1000 times greater than getting whacked by a cougar or wolf.
