RE: Idaho shed hunter stalked by two wolves!
I always carry a hand gun into the woods when walking. A few years ago I was walking down an old mine road when I noticed a big Doberman cross the road about 150 yards away. Didn't think much about it until I got a little closer. The dog came back out on the road, saw me, then started running right at me. I stopped, pulled my 357 and waited. When he was around 40 yards from me his owner yelled at him and he stopped and returned back up the dirt road. When I got to the owner and his now leashed puppy, the guy had the grapes enough to say, "you were going to shoot my dog, weren't you?" My answer,"you bet your sweet a-- I was going to shoot your dog". He was about 3 seconds from doggy heaven. I asked him what he would have done if my Mastiff was chugging at him with no one in sight. I think a light went on and he apologized.[:-]
