The sorest spot in my life are the stories about bowhunters not doing there homework and wounding deer. <img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle> I'm certain that doesn't suprise some on the MB, based on some of my previous posts.
Its the single most thing that makes me wish I wasn't in this sport because of the horror stories I hear and read. 3 stories in the last 2 weeks!!!! A guy is hunting the neighbors property and has wounded 2 deer this year. Wounded a buck and never recovered last year!! And I pass on the small bucks ONLY so this A****** can wound them!!! <img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>
Well,..here is what I need. A woman here at work hunts. I just found out. Stopped by yesterday to see how she's doing? Conversation starts out fine. By the time we're done,...and I'm about to PUKE I find she has shot 4 deer in the last 2 weeks and only recovered 1!!!! The other 3 were clear wounded deer,...2 does and an 8 point. Somehow we get onto equipment. Here is what I find out!!!!!!!!!:
Shoots an old Hoyt set at 40lbs,...shoots 85gr miniblasters, and a 1913 arrow!! Then shes telling me how only a few inches of arrow goes into the deer. DDUUUHHHH......Needless to say she shouldn't be hunting with this set-up! I would like to "turn over a new leaf",<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> by instead of being the prick I usually am when confronted with these stories and sending folks on their way to never return,...I would like instead to attempt to educate her.
I've been at archery and hunting for >20 years and could easily explain the principles to her but think I may be "safer" (Interpreted= less likely to LOOSE IT!!!!) to discuss it and have some articles about KE and mechanicals to share with her. Can anyone pass on any articles that would explain to her the fact that she is WAY outa line with this set-up?????
