would you tell the store owner of where you do buy your hunting equipment, he was slapping you in the face because he had to shut down due to lack of buisiness? would you really say that wal-mart is slapping hunters and fishermen in the face for donating the amount of money they do to the sport, or for FLW, educational purposes or any of the other major organizations they have donated to. Go ask a local shop in an area where wal-mart is no longer selling hunting and fishing goods if they are slapping him in the face.Where did they ever say that they were a store based on hunting and fishing? I am not saying that im happy about wal-mart pulling hunting products from some of their shelves, i am not distraught about this either. you call it a slap in the face, i call it running a buisiness. if it were my job to make that call you can bet your a$$ i would make it the same. for 2 main reasons. A- i am a hunter and root for little hunting shops to make it in this dog eat dog world we live in.B- in that position i would understand, sourcing, product development, marketing and sales. knowing these figures would influence my decisions. This is also anyones perfect opportunity to own a shop, now it just got easier to price compete in these areas. so as you see it as a slap in the face to hunters and fishermen across the world i am seeing it as win win situation.
