Chuck as I understood My Gunsmith, The older Model 37's had the serial # stamped on the end of the reciever , not the side like the newer models, Also asked Ithaca awhile back before they sold to MoldCraft out of sandusky , Ohio, To make a barrel for my Older model 37 , The barrell alone was around $200.00 & the fitting charge was around $75....... But just bought a Ithaca 16 gauge interchangeable Barrel & chokes tubes From IthacaGunsAmerica for $249.00, if that helps ...
