Wolf651

The Spreer Gold Dot is a very good bullet. The 300 grain bullet has a BC of 232 and the ballistic look really good even out to 200 yards. The bullet is bonded and doesn not come apart.

The bullet was built for the 454 Casual, but it is not longer offered in .451, it as been redesigned and is now offered in .452. The 250 grain Gold Dot also in .452 will be an outstanding deer bullet and it is bonded also.

I am thinking that your Kodiac is probably a tight barrel you will probabaly need to purchase MMP HPH-24 sabots or Harvester regular sabots. If they do not work then the "crush rib" will but another sabot will be available in April that will work.

Good luck - I have velocities and ballistic charts at home if you would like them.

One final thing - the Barnes is a great bullet but probably un-necessary in most applications for muzzleloaders, besides being expensive. If you are hunting elk or thick skinned animals the Barnes may be one of the best bullets to use from a ML, I use Nosler Partitions for Elk - but I am heavy weighing my options with the 300 Gold Dot Spreer

Once again good luck...
