If you want to stalk whitetail, you need to do it on a wet rainy day. The leaves will be wet so they won’t make any noise and the deer will most likely bedded down waiting for the rain to pass. You will need to know where they bed, have the wind in your face, and move very slowly. Stalking is by far one of the most challenging ways to hunt, but one of the most rewarding when you harvest an animal that way.
If you just want to have encounters with whitetails, as most have already stated in this thread, you need to study the layout of the land, know their bedding areas, their trail routes, and their feeding area. Once you have this information worked out, put up a stand or blind between the bedding and feeding areas and just wait, THEY WILL COME…
