Congrats on the doe! You sound a lot like me, firing one up when they refuse to cooperate, that works for fishing also, I smoke as little as I can on stand and only when the wind is right, I have actually put one out to take a shot more than once. I live by this one statement when it comes to hunting, the wind is your best friend or your worst enemy when it comes to deer.
