The Encore has so many good choices. The 7MM-08 and 308 are a couple of the best choices. However the 30-30 is also a good one. Going to a bigger case won't really help much in the short barrel and a 308 would probably give better performance than the 30-06. I quess for all around use, the 7MM-08 would be hard to beat. I am going to get a new G2 in 30-30.
