RE: What to Look For?
Most any property owner can be tracked down at the county tax collectors office. You need to know the address of the property. From there you could try writing a letter of introduction to the property owner and ask permission to hunt, although I believe asking in person will give you better results. Also try offering to do some work on the place such as clearing deadfalls or fencelines. Anything that may get the property owner thinking there is a benefit for him or her to grant permission. Good luck and be prepared to have to be persistant. you may have 25 people or more say no before 1 says yes. Oh yeah, have a list of references ready to offer, and when asking in person remember that 1st impressions are so important! Don't go looking like a slob! You want the property owner to know that you are responsible and will take good care of the place. If you don't look like you take care of yourself they won't believe you'll take care of thier property. Good luck.
