It was no accident that there are so many 30 caliber options. The 30 has always been an all american caliber. The 7mm is so european.[:'(]

Versitility is the reason that the 30 is popular with bullets from 100 to 250 grains, and velocities from 100 to near 4000 fps, there is not much that it won't do. You can disagree if you ,but recoil wise ,I would much rather shoot a 300 Win Mag than a 7MM Rem. Mag. Thats after owning three 300 Mags and five 7MM Remington Mags. The most pleasant one to shoot was the 300 Win Mag in the 700 Classic. The most painful was a 7MM Rem mag in the 110 Savage. Of course we are talking felt recoil which is all that counts for me.
