Welcome! I envy you, being in Alaska! It is by far the best, most unspoiled place left on earth. I spent three years at Ft. Wainwright (Fairbanks), and went hunting as much as the Army would let me!

I suggest the Valdez area, particularly Galena Bay, for black bear and even the Glacier Bear color phase shows up around there from time to time.

For Brownies, Hinchinbrook Island. Grizzlies, try the Middle Forks of the Gulkana River. Good place for caribou too, and also moose.
