Default RE: New Guy Here!

Thanks for the welcome.

There are all kinds of things to hunt in Alaska. Unfortunately, I haven't taken the time to do any hunting yet. I have been fishing like crazy, though. Does that count for something? Fall is a tough time for me to get away from work and chase big game animals. But, I hope to fix that this year. Many of my friends and my wife's co-workers are avid hunters, and they have offered to take me out hunting. I am hoping to get out after caribou and moose this fall.

I am a pretty novice hunter, but I reload and shoot quite a bit. I currently have a Dillon 550, 650, and a single stage RCBS press for metallic catridges. I also have a 12ga Mec 9000G and a pair of Mec Sizemasters (12 and 20ga). I have cast my own pistol bullets in the past, but I don't do it anymore. My casting labors couldn't keep up with my shooting appetite. Now I just cast halibut jigs and weights.

For rifle calibers I load .338-06, .30-06, and .223. For handgun I load 9mm, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, 10mm, .45 ACP, .357 mag, .44 mag, .45 Colt, and .454 Casull.
