I have read some of the boone and crockett rules, and I believe that the rules for typical or non-typical have to do with how the deer is scored... Meaning that there are 2 differnet methods for scoring and it has to do with what is subtracted and what isn't. Somethings might be subtracted if you choose to score the deer as typical, where as it may not if it was scored as non-typical... I was looking at the site and there is no definition other then 2 differnt methods of scoring... Check it out,
